This week is proving to be a roller coaster of a week. By that I don’t mean a bad week, just a week with a few highs and lows.
This week started really well. I had an absolute blast with my friends on Sunday! I managed to purchase a book that I really wanted to read. It’s called Reality is Broken by Jane McGonigal, I cannot wait to start it! Although, I didn’t manage to find myself a suitable winter coat. I probably should wait until next year to buy one now 😦
Anyway back to the awesomeness that was Sunday! As my friends and I sat in a quiet coffee shop just off Oxford Street things started to get serious. It’s time to discuss plans for this years group holiday. Nothing quite beats the January Winter blues better than discussing the plans for an amazing holiday.
Over the last few years my friends and I have adopted a tradition of a yearly holiday together. We’re not part of the “laddish” culture so there are no “crude shenanigans.” We always like to book somewhere nice and sometimes a bit pricey. My friends and I all agree “you work to live, not live to work,” and, “when your times up, your times up. As in life you only get one bite of the cherry.” We’re still looking for somewhere to go it’s so exciting.
Then week started to take a slight downturn. Feel free to skip over this bit. Or, alternatively, stick your fingers in your ears while reading and shout LA LA LA, i’m not reading this! Although, subconsciously you are reading it! 🙂 🙂
The weather this week is set to be terrible. Strong gusting winds, possible hurricane strength, lots and lots of rain – with possible localised flooding, aaaaaaaand snow. Yes, you heard me correctly. . . . snow, in London. Needless to say i’m not holding my breath with the snow part. In London it doesn’t really snow much, but when it does snow it is chaos! London just grinds to a halt, hardly trains, buses are slow and delayed. This all happens because London doesn’t have snow on a regular basis. If London had regular periods of heavy snowfall they will have adapted to the situation and be in a better position to deal with it. Switch back to reality and as I’m writing this blogpost in Starbucks, the sun is shining and it looks set to be an absolute stunner of a day.
I’m so excited for 2015. I have booked a day trip to a Harry Potter themed attraction, and, a short to break to Edinburgh, Scotland with my girlfriend. That is just in February! The thing I love most about starting a New Year is the mystery. Who knows what will happen and unfold over the next 12 months. Effectively this year is my open book, my blank page to be written, my blank canvas, if you will. This year i’m trying to “seize the day” or to any of my latin friends Carpe Diem. 2015 is going to be an extension of 2014, and, in short will be absolutely brilliant!
Anyway, back to this week. I’m not sure how the rest of my roller coaster week is going to continue. I really want it to be exciting, fun and full of adventure. But, at the same time I would like some down time to just relax. As long as my metaphorical roller coaster doesn’t fly off the track, smash into a thousand pieces and burst into flames, i’ll consider it a rather good week! 🙂
